News from the Downtown Farm Stand

The second annual All Beers Considered will be Sunday October 26th from 2-5 pm outdoors at the Fickle Peach at 117 E Charles St in downtown Muncie. This event will feature local beers paired with local farmstead cheeses from The Downtown Farm Stand. We're excited for this Octoberfest like event in the outdoors on a Sunday afternoon. This will be a great oppurtunity to taste all of the different cheeses from The Swiss Connection farm from Clay County Indiana. Last years event was a huge success, so reserve your spot today and tell them you heard about it from Dave Ring and The Downtown Farm Stand.
Admission: $15 per person or 2 for $25. Call IPR at 285-5888 by Oct. 22 to reserve your place!

New Employees and Store Changes

We want to welcome a new member to The Downtown Farm Stand family! Sarah Richcreek is a welcome addition to the Farm Stand. Make Sarah feel welcome the next time you see her working. It might be a little confusing having two people named Sara at the store. You'll be seeing my wife Sara Ring more often at the store now as well. Tom Gordy is ready to spend more time on his farm and working around his house, so you won't be seeing Tom working at the store anymore. I'll miss Tom around, but I'm also happy to welcome Sarah Richcreek and to see my wife, Sara Ring at the store more often!

New Egg Supplier

We're proud to have a new quality egg supplier at The Downtown Farm Stand starting next week on October 24th. Sara, the kids and I visited the farm of Jonathon and Lucinda Gingerich near Kokomo, Indiana this last Sunday. Homestead Heritage is a beautiful farm with the poultry and cows all raised on grass and pasture. Their neighbor raises and grinds their feed for them all naturally (quality feed is very hard to find in Indiana). We look forward to them suppling us with plenty of eggs this year. Local quality pastured eggs have been in short supply, and I've been working steadily to find a good producer. We've finally found one and we're happy to have them aboard. Look for them on October 24th.

We have a lot of parking available right on Main street in front of our door, also in the two hour city lot right behind the building with access off of Jackson, and in the surrounding parking lots. If you need help finding these areas, just ask! Many people find we are very convenient if you need to get in and out quickly and do not have time to walk through a big parking lot and wander through a huge store. You can always find a friendly face to ask for help!
