"Two Brothers" Exhibit at Gallery 308 in April

Local brothers Thurman and Lee Grantham are featured in the April exhibition at Gallery 308, located at 308 East Main, Muncie.

The two men are collaborating on a new exhibit entitled "Two Brothers," their first show together. This exhibit highlights their independent yet complimentary artistic styles.

Thurman, whose "autobody floral creations" have been shown in other local galleries, has also commissioned several pieces. His work has been described as being truly unique and original.

Older brother Lee works in reverse acrylics on Plexiglas. In "Two Brothers," you can see this unique technique in a portrait showing a younger version of the two brothers.

Lee and Thurman are graduates of Albany High School where Lee was 'artist of the year' for most of his high school career. Thurman also excelled in his artistic pursuits, winning several prizes as a student. Thurman is the youngest of the three Grantham brothers; the third, Roy, is not currently active with any artistic projects.

"Both our parents were artistic," says Thurman. "Our dad dabbled in drawing and our mom did arts and crafts with us. They nurtured our creativity in that way, and as a result, all 3 of us have artistic aptitude."

Gallery 308 is a 501(c)(3) community art gallery which exists to provide exhibition space for artists, encourage innovative work and serve the community as a cultural and educational resource. Contributions to Gallery 308 are tax-deductible. For more information about gallery hours, volunteer and donor opportunities, please call 765-289-8575.
