"New Works" will be the featured exhibit for April at the Artist Within. Local artist Ross Wagner will showcase his recent oil paintings with an extensive display that will occupy both the main gallery and the upstairs gallery space. Mr. Wagner was graduated from Ball State University in 2007 with a BFA majoring in painting. He is originally from Brownsburg, but lives and works in Muncie.
An opening reception will be held during the First Thursday Gallery Walk April 2nd from 5-8pm; the public is invited to this free event.
"New Works" is a series of paintings that the artist Ross Wagner has done since July of 2008. The New Works has been a project for the artist to further identify himself outside the walls and influences of an educational institution. The artist's subjects are of the commonplace or familiar (things that can be touched).
All the paintings are done directly from life in order to properly describe the subject. Ross paints his experience with the subject in a language that will express it's inner harmonies.
