DOWNTOWN ANNOUNCEMENTS: The Muncie Downtown Business Council will have a meeting next Wednesday, April 18th, at 3pm in the Star Press Conference Room. Downtown Business Council is open to anyone, and not limited to businesses and merchants. Residents, organizations and supporters of downtown in general are all encouraged to attend. 18th - Wellness Wednesdays every third Wednesday at the Wysor Street depot, 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Delaware County Health Department staff will offer free blood pressure and glucose testing. 18th - Cornerstone Juried Art Competition from 5:00-8:00pm at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Works can be submitted the week of April 2nd-6th at Cornerstone, 520 East Main Street in downtown Muncie. The Cornerstone Art Show is open to all ages K through adult, and works in any 2-D or 3-D medium on any theme. 28th - Muncie Children's Museum - Free Family Saturday. Free admission all day! Don't miss Music on the Move with the Muncie Symphony from 11 a.m. until Noon.
28th - Muncie Children's Museum will also be hosting the "Building Better Futures for All Children" Fair from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Through April 28th - Watermedia artist Marilynn Derwenskus will display new works in a new exhibit at Gallery 308 from April 4-28. The opening reception for the exhibit will be April 5 at the gallery. The event is a chance for the public to meet the artist. Light refreshments will be provided. Admission is free.
Through April - Artist Within will feature artwork by three Ball State University seniors: Megan King will exhibit multiple exposure photographs in her solo show entitled "Unconscious Prompts"; and Ben Beaty and TroyReutebuch will have a two-man Senior Thesis Show of drawings and paintings.
Through April 29 - Muncie Children's Museum. Kangaroo Crossing exhibit - enjoy a trip to the "land down under". The Australian exhibit gives visitors the oppportunity to hop over the horizon and learn about Aussie life. Included with regular admission; free to members.
