Great American Songbook Cabaret at Main Street Studio Theatre

MAIN STREET STUDIO THEATRE will present THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK CABARET on May 18, 19, 24, 25 & 26 at 8:00pm and May 20 at 2:00pm. The performances will be at The Main Street Studio Theatre, 222 East Main Street, Muncie, Indiana. Tickets are $10 for Adults and $5 for College & younger. The production is rated G and is appropriate for all ages. Reservations and ticket sales are available by calling 765-288-PLAY or at the Box Office. Box Office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and one hour prior to each performance.

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK CABARET is collection of songs and stories from the first half of the 20th Century highlighting jazz and Broadway composers in a traditional cabaret setting. Candlelit tables, seasonal refreshments and the music of Hoagy Carmichael, Richard Rogers, Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Jerome Kern, Jule Styne and Irving Berlin will set the mood as nostalgia fills the room at this unique musical event. Featured songs include "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart", "Stormy Weather", "Fly Me To the Moon", "Sentimental Journey", "You Made Me Love You" and "Someone to Watch Over Me". Audiences will be seated at four-top tables and a cash bar and seasonal refreshments will be available at all performances.

The musical evening is directed by Darrin Murrell and stars Karen Bartling, Jan Etchison, Linda Gilchrist, Marty Zigler and Elizabeth Ratchford.
