Cornerstone Center for the Arts has reopened our newly renovated Art Gallery on the 2nd floor in an effort to nurture the growing art community in Muncie and surrounding areas.
The gallery will exhibit and promote the artwork of Cornerstone students and instructors, local high school and college students, as well as local and regional artists.
The first exhibit, "Artwork of a Muncie Youth", will showcase the artwork of David Freeman, winner of the 2nd Annual Cornerstone Art Show. The exhibit will display 15 of David's most recent pieces including paintings and photography. The opening reception is Thursday, June 12th at 6:00pm and the show will be on display until July 15th.
David Freeman recently graduated from Delta High School, where he took ten semesters of art classes and earned an Honors Diploma. David's artwork has been recognized as "Best Piece" in the 9th-12th grade category and "Best Overall" in the Cornerstone Art Show. He received 5 Scholastic Gold Keys this February, including one of only eight given for a Senior Portfolio. David plans to attend IUPUI in the fall and major in Visual Communications at Herron School of Art & Design.
