The 2008 Delaware County Farm Festival (Muncie, IN) will be held March 11th and 12th on Tuesday and Wednesday. This 30th annual event, which is free to the public and open from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm will be held at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
With two big buildings full of many things to see and do, there are farm animals to interact with, (milking a cow, to watching sheep being sheared), farm equipment from old to new, and many booths showcasing Indiana agriculture. You can watch kettle corn and pork cracklings being cooked over an open fire and our rural storyteller telling stories and making music during school hours.
There are special events in the evenings:
Tuesday a Chicken BBQ dinner grilled and prepared by the Gaston Lions club and our Fundraising Auction at 6:00. (The funds that we raise enable us to keep admission free)
Wednesday the local Pork Producers will be grilling pork chops and pork burgers and serving at 5:00 pm, the Children's Pedal Pull will begin at 5:30 pm in the main building. Concessions are available, with special lunches each day.
Both nights the State Police will be giving away DNA Kits for children.
