On Valentine's Day in 2003, the website MuncieDowntown.com launched with the purpose of providing a sense of unity to the newly renovated Downtown district.
Five years later, the site has been sucessful at bringing together the many individual efforts contributing to the redevelopment of Downtown Muncie, Indiana.
From the river to the railroad tracks and all things in-between, MuncieDowntown.com provides a centralized source for up-to-date news and information from many downtown resources - including the Muncie Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Horizon Convention Center, Downtown Development and Downtown Business Council and more.
The independently owned website offers a wealth of information about the heart of our city to Delaware County and East Central Indiana residents, as well as potential visitors to Downtown Muncie. There are helpful tools for travelers, including current local weather conditions, current gas prices and maps of the Downtown area, and a live streaming web cam at the corner of Charles and Walnut streets.
The charm of Muncie’s historic Downtown district is that all our businesses are independently owned and operated, and we offer something for everyone. Visitors can browse the business directory on the site to find services, places to live, unique places to shop like F.B. Fogg and Cassella’s Kitchen, or locally favorite restaurants like Vera Mae’s Bistro and White River Landing.
The site also offers a calendar of downtown happenings, and details about events like First Thursdays at the art galleries, Downtown Development blockbuster events like Muncie Gras and the End of Summer Jam, as well as national recording acts at Doc’s Music Hall, productions by Muncie Civic Theatre, special programs at Minnetrista and the Muncie Children’s Museum, and much more.
An online survey will be conducted through March 10 about munciedowntown.com and the services it offers. Please take a few moments to share your opinion so we may better serve you, the businesses, residents and visitors to Downtown Muncie.
Please click here to take the survey, or follow the link to the survey at www.munciedowntown.com.
