Wysor Street Depot now open weekend hours

As of Sunday, May 11, 2008 and through September 28, the historic Wysor Street Depot is now open on weekends.

Weekend hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Normal week-day hours will remain Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Wysor Street Depot serves as a trailhead with indoor restrooms, water, gift shop, and local historical displays; as well as the corporate offices for Cardinal Greenway, Inc.

"We received numerous requests to be open on weekends," says Angie Pool, Development Director for Cardinal Greenway, Inc. "Many of these requests have come as a result of community members learning of the free Cruiser Bike Loaner program operated from the Depot. In exchange of a picture ID and signing a waiver, trail users can take out a loaner bike during Depot hours."

Pool adds that the depot also serves as a local historic attraction for train and local history enthusiasts. "We have visitors daily that just stop by to see the model train display, local historical memorabilia or to just take in the beautiful restoration that has been done."

The Depot also houses a gift shop that in addition to cold drinks and sunscreen; also offers Cardinal Greenway items, train related merchandise, local artwork, and various other types of merchandise for sale.
