Who says you have to go to Africa for a safari, or blast off into space to find out what it's like to be an astronaut? During summer camps at the MCM campers can experience an Indiana safari, test their artistic abilities, perform edible science experiments or see what it's like to be an astronaut! These are just a few of the exciting things that await your child at the MCM's 2008 Summer Camps!
Camp 1: Indiana Safari
June 9 - 13
Young naturalists, come on a safari with us! You don't have to travel very far -- we'll delve into the plants, animals and habitats that surround us right here in Indiana. You'll hike through Christy Woods, investigate the White River and learn more about how to care for the environment! You will take pictures along the way and at the end of the week, you'll take home a photo album of all of your wild adventures.
Indiana Safari is underwritten by Kiwanis Club of Muncie, Inc.
Camp 2: ARTbeat!
June 23 - 27
We'll provide the brushes and the canvas, you provide the creativity! No art experience is required - come get your hands messy with paint, clay and colored pencils. While you work on your own masterpiece, you'll also get to learn about the great artists of the past with a trip to the Ball State University Museum of Art. At the end of the week, your artwork will be featured in a show at the Muncie Children's Museum!
Camp 3: Incredible Edible Science
July 7 - 11
What makes up the food that you eat every day? Bring your appetite and come explore the exciting science of your diet! We'll think outside of the kitchen as we make edible atoms, perform tasty science experiments and put together a kooky cookbook that you can take home at the end of the week.
Incredible Edible Science is underwritten by East Central Dental Society.
Camp 4: Blast Off: A Trip to the Sky!
July 21 - 25
Attention space explorers! The galaxy is made up of billions of stars, moons and planets-- come explore them with us. We can't actually blast you into space (your parents would miss you too much!), but we'll come as close as we can by experimenting with gravity, boarding a StarLab and launching our own mini rockets. Your astronaut training begins here!
Blast Off: A Trip to the Sky! is underwritten by Kiwanis Club of Muncie, Inc.
