Muncie Civic Theatre has been a cornerstone to Downtown Muncie for many, many years, and our community is in danger of losing this wonderful establishment. There will be a public meeting on April 1st at 7pm at the theatre, 216 E. Main Street.
Please read the following letter from its executive director, and do whatever you can to help out. All of downtown Muncie suffers with every business that closes, and we can't afford to lose our Civic Theatre. It is important that we all support our downtown entertainment venues, shops and restaurants, to the best of our abilities, so that we may all enjoy the benefits of a vital city center and continue our growth toward a better downtown.

Thanks for taking the time to read this email. I think it's important and when you're done reading I hope you'll think so too. No one can deny that the quality of programming that has happened at Muncie Civic Theatre (MCT) over the past 5 years has just gotten better and better. You, our volunteers, are 100% credited for that.
As a volunteer, you give of your self to a cause that is near to your heart. Performing and being a part of, not only the casts of shows, but also involved in the artistic production of our shows. We cannot function without your help. By sharing your many talents with the community you enrich the world we live in.
Many of you have made it very clear to our board of directors, and me personally, that it is very clear we are on the right path, here, artistically. We've heard high praise that in the past couple of years the quality of our shows continue to climb. We're proud of that. Our mission of producing family friendly shows for this community and the surrounding communities is obviously a well chosen path. Thank you for your continued support.
The organization now faces some hard decisions. Even though single ticket sales have increased over the past 3 years, we are now faced with closing our doors. Due to corporate sponsorship support decline over the past couple of years and an economy that doesn't support fundraising efforts as we had hoped, MCT will have to close and no longer be a part of this artistic community. The board of directors, and myself, believe that this will not happen with your help. We are now turning to you to help us save the theatre.
We have some great ideas on the table of how this can happen but we need your help to do them. We would also like to hear from you if you have some ideas of ways the theatre could raise some funds in a timely fashion.
There will be a public meeting on April 1st at 7pm at Muncie Civic Theatre, 216 E. Main Street.
Thanks for you support,
Marty Grubbs- Executive Director
and the Staff at MCT
