Spring MUST be on the way ! One day the temperature is almost 60, the next day freezing and snow, High School basketball tourneys are in full swing ( I'm sure you Delta fans are happy) and we change our clocks again this coming weekend. Yep....spring is almost here.
As some of you know, we are now open for dinner Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday nights. Chelsea has planned our specials for March and here they are:
Monday & Tuesday Lunch.... Red beans and Rice with Cheddar Jalapeno Corn Muffin
Wednesday Lunch... Etoufee with Cheddar Jalapeno Corn Muffin
Thurday Lunch.. SURPRISE
Friday and Saturday Lunch and Dinner Specials:
3/7 Blackend Salmon Pasta
3/8 Cajun Spiced Pork Chops with Sweet Potato Casserole
3/14 Corn and Black Bean Samosa with Avacado (Vegetarian)
3/15 Beef with red wine reduction and roasted veggies
3/21 Fish with lemon sauce and corn pudding
3/22 Blackened Chicken with corn pudding
3/28 Jerk Tempeh Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries (Vegetarian)
3/29 Jerk Chicken with Cheddar Grits
As you can see we are adding some vegetarian dishes to the menu at the request of our customers. For you meat eaters, there will still be selections available. The above are just the specials. Look for the Monday through Wednesday items to become the permanent specials for those days. Those specials are available about every day later in the week as well.
Chelsea, Jenica and myself attended the Sysco Spring Food show in indianapolis and came home with some new items and ideas that we will be presenting soon. Several will become regular items on the new menu coming out in about a month. Most of the menu will NOT be changing. We will still be keeping our best sellers, just making some room for constant requests. We saw our friends Kent, Steve and Dave from Vera Maes cruising for ideas to bring to there fantastic eating establishment so don't forget to stop in to see what they come up with. Those guys are always thinking !
Today is the first Thursday of the month which means that the downtown art galleries are open late. Come downtown and find something to hang on that blank wall or set on that empty place on the shelf. Oh yes, don't forget, we are open until nine so you can get a hot beverage or a quick meal.
One last note. A little late for some, but not others. Today is Red-tail Day at the Blue Bottle. 10% of our sales will go to The Red-tail Conservancy. Barry Banks and his staff and all of the Red-tail supporters continue to do a great job helping to save some of our countries natural assets. I have been a supporter of Red-tail from it's early days and have been impressed with this fine organization. Help us save our land for generations to come.
Don't forget those clocks next Sunday and if you wonder what to do with that extra hour of daylight.........drink coffee !
