Muncie Rotary Provides Continued Support for Program at MCM

Muncie Rotary has graciously extended their support to underwrite three months of Free Family Saturdays at the Muncie Children's Museum in January, February and March of 2008.

Muncie Rotary is a part of Rotary International, and is a representative of Rotary organizations in communities around the world. It is a volunteer organization of business and professional leaders who set out to provide humanitarian service, and help to build goodwill and peace in the world.

With the continued support of Muncie Rotary, Free Family Saturdays at the Muncie Children’s Museum will be able to continue fostering the creative, educational and inquisitive minds of East Central Indiana children. The partnership between the Muncie Rotary and the Muncie Children’s Museum will benefit hundreds of families. Since the beginning of the program more than 11,200 visitors have attended free Saturday events.

Free Family Saturdays offer families the opportunity to attend the Muncie Children's Museum free of charge for the day and take part in exciting events and activities held at the Museum. In the spring of 2007, Museum visitors were enlightened and entertained by the Muncie Symphony Orchestra when they performed Music on the Move. May offered those in the "racing capital of the world" the chance to learn about Kentucky’s largest event: the Kentucky Derby. The Museum welcomed a representative from the Kentucky Derby Museum who conducted activities, and showed many people the proper ways to care for a racehorse.

Come to the Muncie Children's Museum during January’s Free Family Saturday on January 26, 2008, to see the unveiling of the one-of-a-kind traveling exhibit, Chagall for Children.

The Muncie Children's Museum is excited to be partnering with Muncie Rotary to help provide the families of East Central Indiana with Free Family Saturdays in 2008.

The Muncie Children's Museum provides hands-on, educational and innovative learning. The Museum is located at 515 S. High St. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $6 a person ages 1-100.
