Chagall for Children at Muncie Children's Museum

Chagall for Children, a one-of-a-kind traveling exhibit, opens at the Muncie Children's Museum January 26, 2008 and goes through May 2, 2008. Chagall for Children is included with regular admission to the Museum.

Chagall for Children offers visitors the chance to explore the whimsical and abstract world of Marc Chagall, the world-renowned Impressionist artist. Chagall for Children captivates visitors with the artwork, and the artist, through 14 interactive elements.

Children are encouraged to explore this multi-sensory exhibit by discovering all of the interactive elements through varying media and art principles such as color, composition, light and texture.

Along with the stimulating visual and interactive components, geared towards children ages 2 -12, the Chagall exhibit is also equipped with audio dialogue at each station of the exhibit. The audio asks visitors questions about each individual piece, records visitor's answers and allows them to listen to answers others have responded with. Chagall for Children will spark the creative and imagination of kids and parents alike.

At different stations throughout the exhibit, visitors can create mosaics, use touch screens to digitally alter Chagall's masterpieces, weave tapestries, and through the magic of video, they can even insert themselves into one of his paintings.

Chagall for Children was developed by the Kohl Children's Museum of Greater Chicago, Illinois and is supported in part by the Women's Association of the Kohl Children's Museum.

Chagall for Children is funded through: The Ball Brother's Foundation, the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County, Inc., the Indiana Arts Commission, Mutual Federal Savings Bank Charitable Foundation and the Muncie Art Student League.
