JUNE EVENTS: 29th - Free Friday Night Movies Downtown featuring "Open Season." Movies begin at dusk and will be shown on the south wall of the Downtown Development office.

30th - Minnetrista Farmers Market--Chef's cooking last Sat. of the month.

30th - Minnetrista Summer Stage Fest features a free concert of country music by Cook and Belle at 7:30pm.

30th - Muncie Children's Museum - Free Family Saturday. Free admission for all visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

1-30th Artist Within features local artist and Ball State graduate Andrew Chambers. Digital and traditional pieces will be exhibited, with an opening reception at First Thursdays on June 7, from 5-8pm. For more info visit www.theartistwithininc.com.

Through June - Muncie Children's Museum - Pre-School Clubs. Train Club meets on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 am. Dino Club meets on Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 am. Messy Stuff Art Club meets on Fridays from 10:30-11:30 am. Pre-registration is not required. 5th - July 13th - Downtown Muncie tours for parents of BSU orientation students. The parents will be dropped off Downtown on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10:30am to 11:50am, between June 5th and July 13th.

11th - July 26th - The Cornerstone Arts Program is excited to introduce its summer classes, which will run from June 11th-July 26th. The Arts Program offers classes for youth and adults in numerous areas of the arts. Register online at www.cornerstonearts.org. Cornerstone Center for the Arts announces (k)ids Arts Scholarship Program for students 4th-12th grade who want to pursue dance, music, theatre or visual arts. Deadline June 1st.

13-29th Gallery 308 and Jack's Camera present local artist Pamela deMarris.

Through October - Minnetrista Farmers Market is back this summer, iin the Orchard Shop Parking Lot 411 West St. Joseph Street. Every Saturday, now through October 28 8:00 am - 12:00 Noon, and every Wednesday now through October 25 4:00 pm until sold out. Come enjoy a summer tradition here in Muncie at the Farmers Market at Minnetrista. Browse vendors for locally grown fresh vegetables, herbs, flowers (hanging baskets, annuals & perennials), honey, bakery items, eggs, fruits, cheeses and savory meats and more (as well as all your favorite items from the Orchard Shop).

JULY EVENTS :

4th Minnetrista: Celebrate America with your band, America's Hometown Band, 7:30pm. The patriotic concert is presented as part of Summer Stage Fest at Minnetrista on the East Lawn stage.

4th - Annual 4th of July fireworks display by the White River on the levee. No further details are available at this time.

4th - Muncie Children's Museum: CLOSED

5th - First Thursday from 5 to 8pm. Downtown's many art galleries host meet-the-artist receptions and spotlight their exhibit openings for the month. All the specialty and gift shops are open late on this evening; and music and light refreshments can be found at almost every stop for a free, family fun event.

5th - Gallery 308 invites the public to attend the opening reception for the annual Members' Show, a non-juried exhibition, July 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. The artists whose work is on display are Gallery members, and many of them will be on hand at the reception to discuss their work. Admission is free; light refreshments are provided. The Gallery's Members' Show is held annually in the month of July. The nonprofit community art gallery is located at 308 East Main Street in downtown Muncie.

6th - Muncie Children's Museum - Friends & Family Fun Night, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free. Join the Muncie & Western Model Railroad Club as the Museum officially opens its renovated Train Exhibit. Hands-on fun and more await train enthusiasts both young and old.

9th-13th - Muncie Children's Museum - Meet The Masters Sensational Summer Camp. Enroll your child today in this stimulating, hands-on camp for budding artists. Children will explore drawing, painting, print-making and sculpture and learn about artists both past and present. A field trip to the BSU Museum of Art and a special camper art show are on the agenda as well. 12 - The Downtown Farm Stand at the corner of Mulberry and Main streets will have a grand opening on July 12th. At that time they will have a complete but ever expanding grocery store product line, and be open longer hours throughout the week. In the meantime, the natural foods market will be open be open on Thursdays from 10 am - 7 pm.

Through July - Artist Within feature sartwork of a former Muncie Southside student, Chuck McNally will be the featured artist for July. An artists reception will be at First Thursdays on July 5 from 5-8.

Through July - ArtWorks Gallery July Featured Artist is Bette Graham - Printmaker. "Summer Relief - Original Woodblock Prints" by Bette Graham, a Muncie artist, will be featured for the month of July at ArtWorks Gallery. Anartist reception will be held from on July 5th 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the gallery which is located on 301 S Walnut in Muncie,IN.Regular gallery hours are from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm.
