Enchanted Event Brings Faeries and Entertainment to Minnetrista

Uncover the magical world of faeries and sprites at Minnetrista. Join us for Faeries, Sprites & Lights, a summertime tradition featuring all the best of faeries, theatre, music, luminaries and more. This year's magical celebration includes an evening kick off event - for adults only!

Enchanted Masquerade

Thursday, July 12, 7 - 10 p.m.

The weekend of enchantment at Minnetrista kicks off with Enchanted Masquerade. This special event is for adults 21 and over. Join us for an evening of music and merriment among the summer blooms of Oakhurst Gardens. Come dressed in something special or perhaps your own captivating costume. Pick up a mask as you enter the gardens and be prepared to be enchanted! The evening's entertainment includes:

* The Muncie Civic Theatre performing the panto "Sleeping Beauty"
* Musical performances by the wandering minstrel Bob Ford
* The juried show and sale The Art of Faeries, Sprites and Lights in the historic Oakhurst House
* Complimentary faerie photo to remember the evening
* Heavy appetizers, dessert, complimentary glass of wine (cash bar available)
* A "parade of homes" of all the new faerie & sprite houses being built in Faerie Towne

Faeries, Sprites & Lights

July 13 - 14, 6 - 9 p.m.

Join us at Minnetrista for three evenings of enchantment during Faeries, Sprites & Lights. Adults and children, families and friends are invited to partake in a magical celebration. You can:

* Stroll the beautiful gardens lit by hundreds of luminaries and search for signs of faeries. Keep your eyes peeled for faerie dust, faerie doors, faerie homes and perhaps faeries themselves.
* Enjoy pantos of the faerie tale Sleeping Beauty performed by The Muncie Civic Theatre.
* Tour the faerie museum, located in Discovery Cabin, featuring a fabulous collection of faerie artifacts and lore from around the faerie world.
* View The Art of Faeries, Sprites & Lights, a juried art show on display in the historic Oakhurst house. The exhibition features works by Indiana artists who derive creative inspiration from faeries, sprites, elves and other mystical creatures.
* Learn about the faerie world from characters who are friends of the faeries found in Oakhurst Gardens.
o Meet Trixie Trinket, the odd job handywoman
o Meet Barb Wire, the hardware store owner
o Meet Dande, the interior decorator
o Meet Tom Tilden, the land surveyor
* Faerie pictures and (temporary) tattoos
* Spritely refreshments and shopping

Faeries & Sprites Tea Time (For ages 4-9)

Saturday, July 14, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

If your little sprite or faerie loves playing pretend, but wants to learn the pomp of true tea time, then hurry to sign them up for this program (space is limited)! After a stroll through Faerie Towne to check the progress of Faerie Towne's construction and a little building project of our own, we'll finish with tea-time refreshments. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Cost: Minnetrista members, $10 per child; non-members, $15 per child. Adults free. Registration deadline is Saturday, July 7. Call (765) 213-3549 to register.
