The Sound of Music at Muncie Civic Theatre

Muncie Civic Teatre presents "The Sound of Music." Performances are December 5th-7th, 11th-13th, and 19th-20th. Thursday through Saturday performances are at 7:30pm and the Sunday matinee is at 2:00pm.

This classic story features music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It was the last musical ever written by Rogers & Hammerstein and is coming to Muncie Civic Theatre as a fantastic holiday theatre experience.

The Sound of Music is set in 1930's Austria, where a young woman named Maria is failing miserably in her attempts to become a nun. When the Navy captain Georg von Trapp writes to the convent asking for a governess that can handle his seven mischievous children, Maria is given the task. When Maria arrives, she is initially met with hostility and skepticism, but her kindness, understanding, and sense of fun soon draws the children to her and brings some much-needed joy into all their lives - including the Captain's.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for college students and younger. Call 288.PLAY to purchase your tickets or stop by the Box Office Tuesday-Friday from Noon-6:00pm at 216 E. Main Street in Muncie.
