The Muncie Downtown Business Council will hold a special session with the Mayoral candidates on Thursday, September 27th at 3pm in the Star Press conference room. This meeting will take the place of the regularly scheduled MDBC members meeting, normally held on the last Wednesday of each month. Immediately following the Mayoral Event will be a DBC "Meet the Members Mixer" from 5 to 7pm at The Artist Within.
Annual ArtWalk on October 4th 5-9pm: in addition to the well-established "First Thursday" art openings Downtown, BSU will share with Downtown a wealth of musical talent and visual artistry. All retail merchants on Walnut and Main St. will keep extended hours during Art Walk and will have special treats in store just for you. Just stop in and see what they are up to! The exhibit will feature artwork from the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival; rejected album cover art for George Harrison and Neil Young; and select prints from his "Legends of the West" series, including rare photographs of Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and bluegrass legend Bill Monroe. Through October 1 - Sand and Fire: A Juried Glass Show Minnetrista is celebrating its regional heritage with its first juried glass art show and sale September 1 through October 1. Sand and Fire: A Juried Glass Show commemorates the Ball Brothers Manufacturing Company's contribution to Minnetrista and showcases glass artists from Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan.
