MIDDLETOWN IDOL EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
PLEASE DISREGARD THE FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT.
Middletown Idol is a solo vocal contest sponsored by the Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Sam Pierceand WLBC Radio. It is loosely based on the American Idol television competition. Middletown Idol is a fundraising event with proceeds benefiting art programming at Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
Contestants must register by phone or in person and submit an application with an application fee. Registration will take place Sept 18 - 21, 2007 from 3pm - 8pm at the information desk on the 2nd floor of Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Cornerstone Center for the Arts reserves the right to extend registration, if deemed necessary.
Junior Middletown Idol contestants will compete Tuesday, October 3 for preliminaries, and will be notified on Wednesday for final competition on Friday, October 6. Due to the number of contestants, preliminary nights will not include any commentary from the judges.
Middletown Idol contestants will compete Wednesday and Thursday, October 4 & 5 for preliminaries, and be notified on Friday of final competition for Saturday, October 7. Due to the number of contestants, preliminary nights will not include any commentary from the judges.
20 contestants from Junior Middletown Idol will be chosen as finalists to compete on Friday night. Five of the twenty finalists will be chosen to give an encore performance to decide the First, Second, and Third Place winners. A Master of Ceremonies will host the competition and judges will be permitted to make comments on the performances. The winner of Junior Middletown Idol will perform on Saturday, October 7 for Middletown Idol Contest.

Five judges will use a 100-point scale for each contestant.
All contestants are to sign agreement to rules and regulations. All contestants under 18 must have a signed parental consent.
Junior Middletown Idol has cash prizes of $250 for 1st Prize; $100 for 2nd Prize; and $50 for 3rd Prize. Certificates of participation will be presented to all final contestants, along with other gifts for the finalists and winners.
