DOWNTOWN ANNOUNCEMENTS: Summer begins tonight in Downtown Muncie! After work, stop by the 200 block of South Walnut Street, next to the Blue Bottle, for live music and fun with the return of Freaky Tiki Fridays, starting tonight, and every Friday through summer. The Free Friday Night Movies also begin tonight. This year the movies will be shown on the south wall of the Downtown Development building, and tonight's movie is "Happy Feet." All movies will begin at dusk.
Beginning Saturday, June 2, 2007 and through Labor day, the historic Wysor Street Depot will be open on weekends. Saturday hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Sunday hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Normal week-day hours will remain Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On June 11, MITS Trolley hours will be changing. The "short loop" will run from 7:30-8:30am and 3:45-4:45pm. The "Figure 8" will run from 8:30-9:15am; 11:30am - 1:45pm; 3:15-3:45pm; and 4:45-5:15pm. For more info, visit www.mitsbus.org.

2nd - Saturday June 2 is the first official day of the Farmers Market in the Orchard Shop parking lot at Minnetrista from 8 am - 12 Noon. The Farmers Market will run every Saturday morning throughout the summer.
2nd - Minnetrista presents Radio Disney Artist Jordan Pruitt in the first concert of Summer Stage Fest at Minnetrista Saturday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

7th - First Thursday from 5 to 8pm. Downtown's many art galleries host meet-the-artist receptions and spotlight their exhibit openings for the month. All the specialty and gift shops are open late on this evening; and music and light refreshments can be found at almost every stop for a free, family fun event.
7th - 9th - Gallery 308 and Jack's Camera Shop present a Special Photography Collection exhibit Gallery 308 and Jack’s Camera Shop present a collection of photographs by Ansel Adams, Jack Spencer, Ruth Bernhard, Brett Weston, Shelby Lee Adams, and many more. The three-day exhibit will be June 7-9 at Gallery 308, with an opening reception at First Thursdays June 7th.

15th - Free Friday Night Movies Downtown featuring "Step Up." Movies begin at dusk and will be shown on the south wall of the Downtown Development office.
20th - Wellness Wednesdays every third Wednesday through August at the Wysor Street depot, 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Delaware County Health Department staff will offer free blood pressure and glucose testing. Cholesterol screening is also available for a small charge. 27th - The Downtown Business Council will meet Wednesday, June 27th, at 3:00 p.m. in the conference room at The Star Press building, 345 S. High St. Downtown Business Council is not limited to businesses and merchants. Residents, organizations and supporters of downtown in general are all encouraged to attend.

5th - July 13th - Downtown Muncie tours for parents of BSU orientation students. The parents will be dropped off Downtown on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10:30am to 11:50am, between June 5th and July 13th.
7th - August 31, 2007 - Gordy Fine Art & Framing will present a three-month 24 Artist Exhibit, free and open to the public. A reception to kick off the summer exhibit will be First Thursday, June 7th, from 5 to 8 PM at the gallery/frame shop. 11th - July 26th - The Cornerstone Arts Program is excited to introduce its summer classes, which will run from June 11th-July 26th.
