Weekly Downtown E-News 5/18/07

Note from the webmaster - The mailing list appears to be working again. Thanks for your patience over the last few weeks, while we sorted out the technical difficulties.

The Muncie Downtown Business Council will have a meeting next Wednesday, May 23rd, at 3pm in the Star Press Conference Room. Downtown Business Council is open to anyone, and not limited to businesses and merchants. Residents, organizations and supporters of downtown in general are all encouraged to attend. Please spread the word, bring a friend, and help take part in making Downtown Muncie the best place to be!

The following evening, the Downtown Business Council will host a "Meet the Members" mixer on Thursday, May 24th, from 5 to 7pm at the Fickle Peach on Charles Street. One free drink voucher will be given to anyone who attends the monthly Downtown Business Council meeting the day before, on Wednesday, May 23rd, at 3:00 in the Star Press conference room, 345 S. High Street in Downtown Muncie.

18th Cardinal Greenways Ride Your Bike to Work Day

20th - Heartland Stage Company presents "Death in Them Thar Hills" at 5:30 pm at Vera Mae's. The performance will be a fundraiser for the Heartland Stage Company. For reservations and information, call Vera Mae's at (765) 747-04941.

26th - Muncie Children's Museum - Free Family Saturday. Free Admission all day. Learn all about caring for race horses at special programs presented by the Kentucky Derby Museum at 11 am & 1 pm.

31st - Muncie Children's Museum - Free Family Saturday - Free Admission all day. Don't miss "Music On The Move" with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra at 11 a.m. Free Saturdays are sponsored by Muncie Sunrise Rotary in memory of Pat Moore.

31st - Cornerstone for the Arts: Cook and Belle, Carl Storie, Sonny Johnson and others will take part in “A Concert of Substance” a fund-raiser for YWCA @ 7pm

MAY ONGOING :

The Cornerstone Arts Program is excited to introduce its summer classes, which will run from June 11th-July 26th. The Arts Program offers classes for youth and adults in numerous areas of the arts. Cornerstone Center for the Arts announces (k)ids Arts Scholarship Program for students 4th-12th grade who want to pursue dance, music, theatre or visual arts. Deadline June 1st.

1-31st Muncie Children's Museum - Pre-School Clubs. Train Club meets on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 am. Dino Club meets on Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 am. Messy Stuff Art Club meets on Fridays from 10:30-11:30 am. Registration is required.

May 5-26 for May Market at Minnetrista. Shop the Market each Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Shop early for the best selection of bedding plants, cut flowers, eggs, meats, and more! WIC vouchers and Senior Farmers Market vouchers are accepted. See you at the Market!

May 19-Aug 19th Minnetrista features: Little Builders—explore the world of construction. Call (765) 213-3549 for information.
