Art and Soul by Phoebe will have an opening reception for February's exhibit, "Mardi Gras," during Downtown Muncie's First Thursday gallery walk February 20.
Ronald Gosse, named in "Art International 2010" as one of 90 international artists to watch, will be the "featured artist" at Art & Soul by Phoebe Gallery at the Opening Reception on February 4, First Thursday, 5-9pm.
Mr. Gosse last year showed at the Seoul National Gallery in South Korea, winning the 2009 Hun Art Foundation Award. He has exhibited in various US cities, including five times in New York City.
In addition, Mr. Gosse has graciously offered to donate ten-percent of any of his sales during this month's showing to the Gallery's Clinton C. Thomas Memorial Scholarship/award Fund which goes to a Delaware County senior high school art student. This year's $500 award will be presented on May 14th at the Gallery.
Mr. Gosse's exhibition in bold abstracts with juxtapositions of vivid colors and considerable relief will be joined by eighteen new artists to the Gallery, plus returning artists with new work.
Art & Soul by Phoebe will feature all new work in February from 18 new artists plus returning artists.
Catering for the First Thursday opening reception will be provided by Tanglevine Crossing, with music by Paul McDaniel -- 6 pm to 8 pm
