Cornerstone in Downtown Muncie to Host Governor's Arts Awards

The 2009 Governor's Arts Awards will be held on September 25th at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Governor Mitch Daniels, the Indiana Arts Commission, and the City of Muncie will honor the following recipients for their outstanding achievements in and contributions to the arts in Indiana:

Angela Brown, Indianapolis

Ball Brothers Foundation, Muncie

George & Frances Ball Foundation, Muncie

International Violin Competition, Indianapolis

Sweetwater Sound, Fort Wayne

Vectren Corporation, Evansville

Initiated in 1973, the Governor's Arts Awards honors artists, individuals, educators, organizations, businesses, and communities for their efforts to further public awareness of the arts.

The Schedule of Events is as follows:

4:30 - 6:00 p.m. - Arts Expose & Reception sponsored by the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware Co.
6:00 - 7:45 p.m. - Formal Dinner
8:00 - 9:30 p.m. - Awards Ceremony
9:30 - 11:00 p.m. - Afterglow
